Public Accessibility

Has the dispute between the Mayor and CUPE caused any accessibility issues for you?

In our case we worry about the safety of the seniors and kids due to the tall grass. Who knows what lurks along the way and how would we notice if someone fell and was injured? Do we still have bloodhounds we can have patrol the parks?

Let us know about this and other community accessibility issues.

What's on your mind?

I am deeply concerned over the lack of accessibility for our seniors. Many of them are stuck between a rock and a hard place. I wonder why so many services are nonessential that in today's society are necessary.

Can anyone answer that for me? My older neighbours want to know if I can find out where the public stands and if it will stand up for them.

Will you?

I have a simple solution to this problem.  The seniors and kids need to stay out of the parks until the city employees are able to clean them.  They can go play at the school yard if they must.

What about the seniors that have to navigate this city with no cabs and unkept streets and sidewalks?

What about the kids that are shorter than the grass as they are on their way to the school parks, or to school period?

Ok the cab issue does present a problem for seniors.  You got me there.

As for the streets and side walks, they aren't any worse than normal.

Kids need to be more careful.  If parents are considered about there children's safety than they should drive or walk their kids to school.

Besides, I'm sure if someone were to get hurt as a result of tall grass or garbage on the street it would put pressure on the mayor to settle.

These are not adults and not everyone can walk the kids to the bus or to school, some are lucky and still working.

And that is not a price we should ever be willing to pay!

Do you know what the ramifications will be if anything were to occur to one of our kids. Perverts do not discriminate and there are a couple of them still unaccounted for from the recent past.

How about if some of you, along with some of us, provide extra eyes and ears, together. As we argue and discuss the solutions and problems keep one eye on the prize, our kids.

I promise I will watch out for yours, even if you choose to ignore mine, for God will judge you for your actions. There are lines that must be drawn by all sides of this issue when it comes to innocent children of Windsor and I am sure you agree.

The pressure is on the Mayor my friend, the pressure is on high, whether you want to believe it or not. Wink

I guess the kids will just have to be careful then!  Unfortunately, the children are being used as pawns already by both sides (city and CUPE).

It would be sad if someone were to get hurt because of unsafe streets but it will definitely get the mayor to get back to the table.

If I see a child running out into traffic I would surly do everything in my power to make sure that they are out of harms way.
